Schaeffler presents innovative repair and service solutions for combustion engines, hybrids and electric vehicles

With the change to Vehicle Lifetime Solutions, Schaeffler is sharpening its focus on innovation, progress, and even more customer orientation

Vehicle Lifetime Solutions creates value at various points in the mobility ecosystem – from the availability, competitiveness and sustainability of service solutions in all powertrain technologies to new digital technologies and business models

Global motion technology company Schaeffler will be showcasing its complete portfolio of repair and service solutions for combustion engines, hybrids and electric vehicles at the world's leading trade fair Automechanika Frankfurt from 10 to 14 September 2024. Under the motto "Sustaining Motion. Pioneering Future.", the trade fair appearance has something very special to offer this year: Schaeffler is presenting its Automotive Aftermarket division for the first time under the name Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions, which abbreviates to VLS. The new name stands for the further development of the division and reflects Schaeffler's strong commitment to sustainable innovation, technological progress, and tailor-made new customer solutions.

Focus on digitalization and e-mobility
Digitalization and e-mobility are becoming increasingly important in the evolving mobility ecosystem. Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions stands for the brand's established strengths as well as for new technologies and innovations: "We have always evolved and are doing so again today. To remain one of the leading providers of vehicle repair and service solutions in the future, we are strengthening our core business and adapting it to the new circumstances. We will also open new business opportunities in the mid-term," says Jens Schüler, CEO Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions. The division's new strategic focus encompasses products, repair solutions and services for the traditional automotive aftermarket, while also prioritizing the development of new technologies, including electrically powered, digitally connected, and automated mobility solutions.

Expansion of the portfolio through key technologies
“The integration of automotive supplier Vitesco Technologies is an important step in this transformation. Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions is thus expanding its portfolio to include key technologies for the electrification of the powertrain in response to the growing demands of the market to develop innovative solutions for the future of mobility”, says Schüler. This primarily includes the expansion of the range of thermal management systems as well as the development of hybrid modules and integrated electric axles. Among the many highlights is the NOx Sensor from Vitesco Technologies, which will also be presented at Automechanika in Frankfurt. It precisely and continuously measures the nitrogen concentration in the exhaust gas of diesel vehicles and thus contributes to cleaner emissions.

Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions at the Automechanika Frankfurt 2024
At Automechanika Frankfurt 2024, Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions will present its comprehensive offering in three main areas. This is a direct result of the division's agenda: future-ready technology, market-centric products, and customer-oriented services. Each of these areas reflects Schaeffler's core competences and innovative strength.

Future-ready technology
At their booth, the company will be presenting the latest developments and innovations that support the transition to electric mobility and intelligent, connected vehicles. In addition to the NOx Sensor, these innovations include the Schaeffler Mover, a scalable platform for autonomous shuttles, and the OmniFusion 3D printer, capable of cost-effectively printing repair components on various metals to meet specific requirements. The use of green steel and other sustainable materials will also be highlighted.

Market-centric products
Schaeffler will be showcasing a wide range of repair solutions and products to meet the current and future requirements of the mobility ecosystem. These include the LuK K0 disconnect clutch repair kit for hybrids, the second-generation INA thermal management module and the latest wheel bearing generations of the FAG WheelSet. All products are designed to support garages, efficiently mastering the growing challenges of e-mobility and digitalization in the future.

Customer-oriented services
In order to offer its customers outstanding service, Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions provides digital innovations and services. With the REPXPERT service brand, the division supports garages in carrying out repairs efficiently and professionally and prepares them for repairs on future vehicle generations with a comprehensive training program and special tools. For example, Schaeffler is developing intelligent product solutions in the field of e-mobility and will demonstrate at Automechanika how garages can professionally carry out engine and transmission repairs on technically sophisticated electric vehicles using the two repair kits Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem G and M.

Visitors can also try out the Schaeffler OneCode at the stand: The QR code can be found on every Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions packaging and extends the company's digital service offering with a particularly easy-to-use solution.
