The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR; www.timken.com), a global leader in engineered bearings and industrial motion products, is pleased to announce that the Manufacturing Institute (MI) has recognized Abby Hines, operations manager at the company’s Rutherfordton (Shiloh), N.C, plant, as a 2024 Women MAKE Awards Emerging Leader. MI’s Women MAKE Awards annually recognize 130 women in the manufacturing industry who exemplify leadership within their companies and communities. Hines is one of 30 honored as an Emerging Leader, women under the age of 30 who’ve demonstrated leadership early in their careers.

“Every day, Abby displays her leadership by inspiring and mentoring colleagues and engaging with students as a volunteer in her community,” said Natasha Pollock, Timken vice president, Human Resources. “We’re proud of Abby and all of our female leaders who are contributing their skills and making a measurable difference across our company and our industry.”

Since graduating from Clemson University with an industrial engineering degree in 2019, Hines has succeeded in leadership roles at three different Timken plants. She’s now responsible for leading her team’s adherence to the Timken Manufacturing Operating System values and practices. She served as facilities chair for Timken’s 2023 United Way campaign and is currently pursuing an MBA in information systems and business analytics.

MI formally recognized Hines along with other honorees at the 2024 Women MAKE Awards gala April 18 in Washington, D.C.
